What is HANDYMONSTERS?

What if any of your pocket sized electronics like cell phones were customized characters? HANDYMONSTERS is just that.

The project began on Pixiv where it grew into a huge hit. Now a group has been established here on DA for internationalization.

First, I would like clarify something. HandyMonsters are NOT adoptables.

HanMon characters are strictly personal, and they are not meant to be sold or otherwise distributed among other members. The only exception to this rule is a design request. If a member wants a HanMon character designed by someone else, they must file a request in the Special folder. The designer may charge a fee for the design, and the recipient may modify the design as they see fit. The HanMon then belongs to the recipient. Once a design has been completed, the recipient must either remove the respective request from the group, or mark it as completed.

Second, rules about joining the group. Those who wish to join the group must have a valid reference sheet as a link in the join request, as well as a over 9000 words essay brief introduction about yourself (not your HanMon). This is done to filter out people who treat this group as only a platform for self-promotion. I'm not against self-promos myself, but this group isn't the place for that.

I'm thinking about making one of these Hanmon but I want to know somethings about these cuties first just in case if I screw up the process of making one.

1 - Is there anything that can't become a Hanmon?

2 - Is the species closed for now?

1. Computers cannot be a Hanmon. This is probably the biggest issue we had in the past, because the canonical definition is a "portable electronic devices which can be operated with only one hand", though lightweight tablets such as the Surface series are now permitted after the rules were changed at the anniversary event in 2014.

2. No. Hanmon isn't a "species". However if you were to think of it as one, then it's perfectly safe to assume it's open.

I have a question. I'm thinking about making my own Hanmon and I've thought of three already. But does a mac book count? I know it's not technically a handheld device, but like an ipad, one can easily carry it around anywhere in a bag, since it's pretty small. I'm just wondering because this concept is very interesting to me!

No. It's not eligible for entry.

I never hated your art. It's the fact you never followed the rules that lead to your submissions being denied.

*Sigh* Well if that's true, I have already left the group, and I'm never coming back. Don't feel bad for me.

I got to check... is the group submission bugged? I tried to submit my friend's gift for me featuring my two charas. And they don't appear in the group submission message center, yet they appear in my own message center. The same thing happened to other group I recently became contributor of.

Am I being stupid of not knowing where to decide to accept or decline a submission of a group (It should be in the Message Center of the group, isn't it?), or it is a bug over DA?

Correspondence messages will only show in your personal messages if you have the status of contributor or higher (as long you have voting priviledges).
